The aim of this area is to develop biotechnological processes using marine micro-organisms for the production of "clean" energy and high-value-added molecules, as well as for the bioremediation of metal-contaminated environments. This last component interacts with Axis 4.
This part of the team's research is carried out in partnership with laboratories in developing countries, using the IRD's scientific cooperation tools (expatriation of researchers, MLD, JEAI, International Joint Laboratory).
Examples of studies
Bio-H2
Implementation of a bioprocess for the production of hydrogen from fermentable substrates using microorganisms from ecosystems such as hot thermal springs and marine springs, making it possible to use seawater as a culture medium.
