What is the ARTS programme?
The "Allocations de recherche pour une thèse au Sud" (Research grants for a thesis in the South) programme supports doctoral students from the South to carry out their thesis by alternating between an IRD laboratory and a laboratory in the South, in order to train the managers, experts and scientists of tomorrow.
Funding is granted for a maximum of 36 months, enabling the doctoral student to :
- To carry out a thesis in a professional context;
- Access to the intellectual and logistical resources of co-supervision (IRD and a partner in the South), as well as a high-quality working environment;
- Acquire the skills needed to work in the research profession;
- Participate in cross-disciplinary training and networking activities.
