The IRD is launching the third Innovation Awards. The call for entries is open until 4 May 2025. This year, 2025, the Year of the Sea, will highlight projects dedicated to coastal and ocean issues.
The competition is aimed at doctoral students and young researchers working on innovative, high-impact projects that meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the countries of the intertropical and Mediterranean region.
The projects submitted must be part of a sustainable approach, involve socio-economic partners and provide real added value compared with existing solutions. They may cover any subject related to coastal and ocean issues. Six nominees will be selected to receive training in entrepreneurship and project development, as well as pitch coaching to help them get the most out of their initiatives.
The competition, which is exclusively in English this year, is open to doctoral students and young researchers based in France or abroad. To be eligible, candidates must have defended their thesis less than five years ago or be currently studying for a PhD, with a project related to research carried out by an IRD team.
Prerequisites fluency in English.
