AMU - Festival of Sciences and Arts - Theme 2025 "Science and Beliefs" - Call for entries

For its 6ᵉ edition, from 16 at 20 September 2025the Festival aligns itself with the movement Stand up for Sciencelaunched in March 2025, which aims to defend scientific integrity and promote confidence in research methods. In a context where misinformation threatens the credibility of scientific institutions, this movement raises public awareness of the importance of evidence-based science and encourages informed public discourse. In support of this initiative, AmU has offered research residencies to American researchers facing difficulties at home. The Science and Arts Festival, building on the success of its previous edition entitled  Hand-to-hand  which attracted some 6,000 participants, is set to explore a crucial theme this year: the relationship between science and belief. Historically perceived as opposites, science and belief have always interacted in a significant way in our perception of the world. Since ancient times, societies have sought to understand their environment through these two prisms: one based on observation and experimentation, the other rooted in cultural convictions.

Call for entries

The Festival des Sciences et des Arts Scientific Advisory Board will select projects according to two major criteria - their interdisciplinary dimension and their added value for student training. As such, projects developed by students as part of their course, in conjunction with their teacher-researchers and researchers, are eligible. The Festival is also attentive to the diversity of formats in its programming. Take a look at last year's programme to get an idea: https://festivaljeudeloie.univ-amu.fr/programme/
