Ocean and Seas 2025 will provide an opportunity to discuss several aspects of ocean-related scientific activity: research, training and communication. We want to examine how French research has chosen to tackle these aspects, with dedicated sessions presenting scientific results and feedback on the methods used, with concrete examples drawn from the last two years of the life of the 'Ocean and Seas' Research Group (GdR OMER). There will also be time for round-table discussions to allow the community to exchange views on these issues. Finally, there will also be a half-day dedicated to the interface between ocean sciences and public policy.
