Let’s share our thoughts, memories, and first results of the BioSWOT-Med cruise BioSWOT-Med, and decide together the next steps of our journey into the finescale biophysical landscape.
The meeting will be organized around a series of thematic slots organized in terms of our work packages. Specific sessions will be dedicated to brainstorming on inter-work package questions, and in particular on the coupling mechanisms between the specific fine scale conditions we encountered (3D frontal dynamics, storm impact, internal wave dissipation, eddy lifecycle) and the biogeochemical and ecosystem response observed. Some key questions we will address are :
Priority will be given to presentations from students and postdocs. The presentation of preliminary results and of tentative ideas is strongly encouraged.
CalVal SWOT, finescale physical landscapes, Eddy-wave interactions at SWOT scales, in situ estimations of vertical velocities, biogeochemistry, phytoplankton diversity, upper trophic levels and acoustics.
